Alright, here we go...
Football
It's nice to have a returning starter under center for a change. Mike Lucas talks with Tolzien, Moffitt, and Clay about the QBs rise from 3rd stringer to award watch lists. With a year of experience and a ton of returning talent Tolzien could have the best statistical season in UW history.
Speaking of Tolzien,he's the 10th best returning QB in passing efficiency rating.
Phillip Welch almost wasn't a Badger. Welch was never offered a scholarship from Colorado State, his hometown school, and accepted a late scholarship from UW. The Coloradoan talks to Welch about his recruitment and his expectation to be a Lou Groza award finalist. The Badgers offense should help Welch put up the numbers.
The Badger Herald ranks the Big Ten teams heading into the season. The OSU-Iowa-UW order is pretty much the consensus amongst the gurus, bookies, journalists, and anyone else with Internet access.
Fan voting for the top Big Ten tight end is open at BigTenNetwork.com. Go vote for Lance Kendricks and John Clay, who's winning the RB poll with 24% of the vote.
Who do you think is UW's biggest football rival? Our scientific BadgerFans.com poll says it's Minnesota.
Basketball
Jon Leuer is in Vegas to play for the USA Select team against the U.S. national team. He's also hanging out with Greg Steimsma and Joe Krabbenhoft at magic shows.
Leuer talks with Rob Schultz about playing against some of the NBA's best players, pick-up games with the incoming freshman and his expected leadership role this year. He's got be one of the favorites for Big Ten player of the year.
Madison.com gathered a couple of Jarrod Uthoff interviews from YouTube. That's an unfortunate still image on the bottom video.
Schultz was a busy dude yesterday. He also talked to Devin Harris, who was back in Madison to speak to middle school kids. Harris talks about the Nets outlook for next season. It's the NBA so I'm not going to add anything more.
According to the head of NCAA officiating, starting this year a foul will always be a foul. I know at least one BadgerFans.com reader that will have something to say about this.
Other Stuff
2010 national champ Andrew Howe can vouch that international competition is more difficult than the NCAA. Howe went 37-0 last year but lost both his matches to an Azerbaijanian at an international tournament.
