College football season starts today. We should all be happy we're not Minnesota fans. A Gopher friend of mine actually talked up Middle Tennessee State as a tough opponent because they're favored to win the Sun Belt conference.
If you missed it yesterday we've launched a new section called Fan Shots. If you're interested in participating let us know.

The big news yesterday was the Big Ten announced its division alignments when Nebraska joins the conference in 2011. The Badgers will be in the same division with Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue.
Jeff Potrykus breaks down the new divisions by the numbers and also lists UW's 2011 and 2012 schedule. One bit of exciting news for UW fans is Nebraska will play its first Big Ten game in Madison in 2011.
According to a lot people Wisconsin got the short end of the stick in the division alignment. CBSSports.com and Tom Oates both write that the Badgers are the Big Ten division losers while Adam Rittenberg writes that if any team has a legitimate gripe about the divisions it's Wisconsin.
Tom Mulhern and Jeff Potrykus both write that UW is the most geographically out of place school in the new divisions.
Dave Heller has his second installment of the Badgers Rountable, which we're participating in. Today's segment is all about the defense. Tomorrow will include season predictions from each Badger blogger.
A lot of people are expecting a big year from TE Lance Kendricks, including coach Bielema and Kendicks.
Tom Oates also writes that it was a smart move for Bielema to give up his part-time job coaching special teams. I don't get why he won't hire a special teams coach.
Linebacker Mike Taylor is still unsure if he'll be able to play against UNLV but he's expecting to be ready in time for the following game against San Jose State.
ReadingEagle.com likes that Wisconsin and Penn State will play each other in the last game of the year, saying that UW is the best possible match up since OSU play Michigan and Nebraska plays Iowa that weekend.
In an interview with the BuffaloNews.com ESPN's Colin Cowherd says that UW is his sleeper pick to win the national championship.
When Minnesota plays Middle Tennessee State tonight a couple of MTSU will be familiar with the Gophers. Former Badger coaches Randall McCray and John Palermo now coach for the Blue Raiders.
UNLV has faced UW more than other team from a BCS conference but the ongoing series could be put on a hold for while as the teams don't have any future games scheduled after next season when UNLV comes to Madison.
