Hopefully your liver is recovering and enjoying the bye week. Rest up because the end of the month is going to be a doozy.
Football
In yesterday's BadgerFans.com week 5 BCS rankings, UW remained at #7 despite moving up in the human polls. As sick as it might make you feel it might be in UW's best interests to hope Michigan runs the table and two undefeated teams meet in the Big Ten title game.
Jack at Badger of Honor writes that Montee Ball is on a historic touchdown pace. Ball would have to go crazy to come close to Barry Sanders' 37 TDs but could pass Kevin Smith for the most since 2000 (29).
Looking for more news and notes on team? Check out the JSOnline, Madison.com, and Bucky's 5th Quarter. One interesting note is that Derek Watt may be outgrowing the linebacker position and could end up on the d-line.
Hoops
The Big Ten hoops predictions are starting to trickle in as we get closer to basketball season. Bloguin expects the Badgers to finish 5th in the conference. Obviously the author hasn't been paying attention to UW basketball the last 10 years.
Hockey
Andy Baggot notes that when the NHL season starts tomorrow the UW hockey team will have two more former players in the league. Defenseman Jake Gardiner (Toronto) and winger Craig Smith (Nashville) will join 18 other former UW players on NHL rosters.
Chuck at B5Q has a UW recruiting update, profiles freshmanTyler Lapic and takes a close look at the goaltender position. UW doesn't have any experience in net so it could be a long season of growing pains for the Badgers.
